93rd Bomb Group Museum

Overview

The 93rd Bomb Group Museum, is located on the former Hardwick Airfield in Norfolk and commemorates the American airmen of the USAAF Eighth Air Force during World War II. Dedicated to the 93rd Bomb Group—nicknamed the “Traveling Circus”—the museum preserves their remarkable history, including missions over Europe and the famous Ploiești raid. Housed in restored Nissen huts and a former mess hall, exhibits feature B-24 Liberator parts, uniforms, mission maps, photographs, and personal stories. Outdoor displays include vehicles and airfield artifacts, offering an authentic glimpse into wartime life. Open May to October, it’s a must for aviation and history enthusiasts.
