From Friday 11 – Sunday 20 September, people across Norfolk and beyond can enjoy hundreds of free events during the Norfolk Heritage Open Days festival, from hidden historic buildings and guided walks to family activities, exhibitions and talks.

Heritage Open Days (HODs) is England’s largest festival of history and culture, bringing communities together each September to celebrate local stories, historic places and cultural traditions. In Norfolk, the festival opens up special access to buildings, spaces and experiences that are often hidden, closed to the public or offer a fresh perspective on familiar places.

Norfolk HODs is a collaboration between all of the venues, organisers, community partners and volunteers who work to bring the festival to life for thousands of residents and visitors.

The Forum Trust funds the coordination and promotion of Norfolk HODs each year as part of its charitable purpose and are proud to be coordinating such an important festival, which makes heritage accessible to the whole community.

The Norfolk programme is made up of 350+ events, many of which are fully booked, but don’t worry – there are many brilliant drop-in events for all to enjoy.
