A Visitor Economy Initiative - Launched Summer 2026
Connecting people with their beautiful outdoors and local businesses
This visitor economy project was developed and funded jointly by Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council to:
- promote local business prosperity
- increase wellbeing across our communities
- inspire people to discover more
We are promoting South Norfolk and Broadland through six themed walking area inspired by major routes. This aims to engage and support both our communities and businesses.

Our goals
- Boost healthy lifestyles

- identity for our businesses
- Share best practice

It starts with walking
- Walking aligns with Visit East of England objectives
- Creates distinct marketing identities for each area
- The plan is to build on walking and add trails with different themes such as canoeing, heritage and more
Benefits for businesses
- Featured on a new visitor website with individual logins
- Opportunities for networking, training, and marketing support
- Inclusion in campaigns and collections (e.g. Let’s go Walking, Cycling, Fishing)
- A voice within regional tourism strategy
